PV Elite was born out of necessity — a response to the lack of structured, high-level training in our region. What started as a few guys on the ice has grown into a full-spectrum development system serving players across the Pembina Valley and beyond.

why we exist

Core Philosophy

Behind every session is a system — built with purpose, not guesswork. Our mission is to raise the standard, invest in our community, and build something that outlives us. We believe in doing things the right way: with care, consistency, and a deep commitment to long-term growth.

Whether it’s helping a kid make their AAA team or showing up every day for the next generation, we’re here for the details. Because details are what make the difference.

Our Pillars

player-first development

We prioritize athletes over ego. Every rep has a purpose — whether it’s building confidence, sharpening decision-making, or reinforcing the fundamentals that win games. Our systems are designed around the individual, not the other way around.

community roots

Built by locals, for locals — growing the game where it matters most. We’re not here to cash in and move on; we’re here to pour back into the same rinks and families that raised us. The Valley isn’t just our home — it’s our foundation.

elite standards

From our coaches to our culture, we don’t cut corners. We hold ourselves and our players to a higher level of accountability, preparation, and execution. “Good enough” doesn’t live here — we chase better every session.

long-term focus

Development curves vary — we’re here for the full journey. Whether it’s a breakout year or a building phase, we train with the endgame in mind. Our goal is sustained growth that holds up under pressure, not short-term flash.

character matters

We care about who you are, not just how you play. How you show up — as a teammate, competitor, and person — is part of the process. On and off the ice, we develop habits that make better players and better people.

fun first attitude

We take development seriously — but we never forget why we play. A fun, competitive environment brings out the best in players and builds a love for the game that lasts. Energy, laughter, and a few celly-worthy moments are part of the program.

OUR Story

PV Elite started in the summer of 2019 as a solution to a local problem: if you were a high-level hockey player in the Pembina Valley, summer ice meant commuting to Winnipeg multiple times a week. The travel, cost, and time away from home were unsustainable — especially for junior hockey players.

That summer, a few of us threw together a 3-on-3 day in Morden. Thirty-two players showed up. I ran the clock, kept stats on a clipboard, and did fake post-game interviews for fun. At the time, it felt like a one-off.

Then COVID hit.

With no ice in Winnipeg and the season in limbo, we got access to a few quiet slots in Morden. We invited the same group from that first skate — and suddenly had 75 players flooding back. Still unnamed, we sat in a dressing room tossing out names until someone said, “This is an elite group. Why not call it PV Elite?”

The name stuck.

What came next wasn’t clean or polished. We messed up jersey orders. Forgot ice times. Showed up late. But the community stuck with us — not because we were perfect, but because we cared. They gave us room to figure it out.

By summer 2020, we had 135 players. Then came skill sessions. Spring teams. Goalie training. And now, a dedicated gym space opening in 2025. We’ve grown from a Sunday skate into a full-spectrum development system supporting over 500 players each summer.

Some people laughed when we said we wanted to build something on par with the top Winnipeg programs. We’re not quite there yet — but we’re closer than ever.

And we’re just getting started.
